Designing Explainable AI interfaces
CONTEXT
Wireframe sketches Decide what ethical principles I want to use Which AI model do I want to use
PROCESS
I tried making the button bigger than "generate" button. After looking at different types of nudges and difference between AI nudges and nudges, I started to look at how other types of nudges are embodied to other programs like Duolingo.
REFLECTIONS
I didn't like using the word, "AI" in the prompt. Users can also do beneficial task with AI so I didn't want to generalize that all AI's are bad. I
think pop-up is taking up the whole screen and stops the user's flow.
I would rather prefer subtle but noticeable enough.
I tried making the button bigger than "Generate" button. I think this is too much in the way of users' flow.
What if I give them incentives? What kind of incentives would designers/users want? Will receiving the badge be enough?
What if I show them the statistics?
These different types of nudges inform how I can nudge the user in different ways.
INSPIRATION/NEW QUESTIONS
What context, what background, what intent do users have when they use the platform. Are they in a hurry? Will experienced designers react differently to the emerging designer? To understand how users use AI model, I had to study more on typical chat box AI models. What are different types of nudges and how are they used in AI models?
CONCRETE ACTION
Design prototype from wireframe, Create a Survey for after user testing, Decide what to measure in User Testing, What other AI models UX/UI design Color Features? Locations of UI, Style of graphics, how do interface interaction Timing differ, UI design
Possible types of user flows
