Prototyping interfaces. "What is the next interface?"
CONTEXT
I got interested into different type of interfaces. There are different type of interfaces. What is "tangible interface" and why do we want to use tangible interface? Tangible interface involves sensory and they are a lot of different senses that we can use different format of interaction. Who was the first person to use the word, "generate"? Why are people using "magic wand" to AI feature interfaces? What if my prompt is not a text? What if my movement is a prompt? What if my design is a prompt itself? What if paper is made with embodied AI feature?
PROCESS
STEP 1.
To understand the context, different UI designs and languages that were used in graphical user interfaces to represent GenAI features were studied.
TANGIBLE INTERFACE
I used images with Google Gemini GenAI tool to create different textures of "generate" buttons with these prompts: "Create a "generate" button with blue furry hairs", "create a "generate" button with glass ball", "create a "generate" button with squishy stress ball". "create a "generate" button with fabric", "create a "generate" magic wand stick", "create a magic wand with the letter engraved "generate". I also searched controllers, different type of switches, slots, and volume level inputs, to find different types of controllers. Something tangible and moveable might give them different experience of prompting.
Images generated by Google Gemini
Then I started using analog objects that has different physical controllers.

NEXT STEP
I will explore AI principles of design softwares and other major technology companies. Studying types of ethical decisions of users will be helpful to determine which prompts I would like to use. Studying the new emerging term, "Responsible AI", the question rised was, "What is responsible designer? What is responsible AI for designer?" Ethical principles are vague and unclear.
